INSTALLATION METHOD

01

Attach

Applicate an adhesive to the foundation using a teeth trowel (3-5mm) and attach Terrawell tiles onto the wall with your hands. Complete an area of 1m² at a time.
It is recommended to make slight gaps (around 0.5mm) between tile pieces. (Lessens damage from external shock, deformation and etc.)
When you would like to redo, insert a spatula carefully behind the tile piece, then rip it off gently. This operation should be done immediately after the first attachment. Please be careful just in case tiles fall off.

* Please press tile gently with your hands when attaching.
* Please do not hit Terrawell with a tool such as a stick. Unlike standard tile, Terrawell can crack and break.
* Joints cannot be filled; joint filler is unavailable.

02

Wipe Clean

If the adhesive sticks out to the tile surface, get rid of it with a spatula immediately after attachment.
To finish, wipe the surface powderiness with clean wet sponge/cloth wrung out tightly.
Please do not use a dirty sponge/cloth. It might cause tile getting dirty.

03

Cut

Place a Terrawell piece on a flat bench. Carve a deep scribe line on its back side with a cutter, then place a wood block there (as a cutting guide) and push it to cleave the tile. You can use a diamond cutter as well.
Polish the fracture surface with a electric sander (Sandpaper: #40-#80) to finish.

Notes

Terrawell is "non-fired" tile. It is made of raw clay harden with specific natural materials, and it gains strength after installation by absorbing CO2 in the air.
As its strength is lower compared to normal fired tile, please handle with care.
Minute attention is needed especially when unpacking and installing.

Installable to:

(Walls of living rooms, bedrooms, lavatories, entrance and corridors)

Recommended Adhesives

Recommended: Elastic adhesives for tiles
(Its emission quantity of formaldehyde meets F☆☆☆☆ of JIS standard)

×Uninstallable to:

Splashed area
(bathrooms, kitchens, spandrel walls of public lavatories,

Unsuitable Foundation

MAINTENANCE

How to Remove Stains

Typical stains

Soak a cotton swab in undiluted chlorine bleach, then lightly rub the stain with it from the outside to the middle.
Instead of trying to remove it all at once, repeat rubbing several times to make it work effectively. When the swab gets stained, replace it with a new one.
After operation, you can use a dryer to quickly make fade the water-stain from the tile surface to check the result.

Stains Requiring Special Care
(Please pay attention in daily life)

Soak a cotton swab in sanitization alcohol, then lightly rub the stain with it from the outside to the middle.
Instead of trying to remove it all at once, repeat rubbing several times to make it work effectively. (However, there are some cases it doesn't work.) When the swab gets stained, replace it with a new one.
After operation, you can use a dryer to quickly make fade the water-stain from the tile surface to check the result.

×Please Do Not:

  1. Water it
  2. Install it to a place with severe dew condensation
  3. Install it to a floor
  4. Wipe it with a dirty cloth

Terrawell is a building material with himidity control feature. It absorbs and desorbs humidity in the air to keep moderate environment.
